Day 6 - Psalm 23
Psalm 23 - an oldie but a goodie. oh wait, they're all old. anyway, i'm not totally certain what makes this verse so popular - i mean, it's a great verse (as equally great as the whole Bible), but why has it become such a memorable verse throughout history? is it because its a funeral verse? a war verse - as men go into battle they cite this verse to themselves/God? is it the shepherd analogy?
i think what causes it to stand out to me is the power of vs. 4 "even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil, for you are with me." no matter how bad it gets, God is there...he will never leave us forsake us.
i love you, LORD. my life without you would be worthless. thank you for not leaving in my most desperate times. amen.
